Traditionally, grapes for wine-making have been grown in the 30th and 50th parallels of the northern and southern hemispheres. In Thailand there are now at least six major wineries producing grape wines well under 18 degrees north of the equator. The new concept of growing wine-making grapes in the 14th and18th latitudinal parallels has become known as “New Latitude Wines“.
Hua Hin Hills Vineyard is located 35km west of Hua Hin and has been built on the site of a former elephant corral. Founded by the man who invented the energy drink Red Bull, Hua Hin Hills Vineyard is the first vineyard in Prachuab Kiri Khan province in which Hua Hin is located, and is the new home of Moonsoon Valley Wines.
Opened in 2004, Hua Hin Hills Vineyard is surrounded by magnificent mountains and spread over 400 acres of land. The vineyard benefits from a Mediterranean-style breeze and produces many grape varieties such as Colombard, Chenin Blanc, Muscat, Shiraz, and Tempranillo.
The vineyard is open six days a week (closed on Mondays except for public holidays) from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and is available for tours, wine tastings, dining and more.
